Week of June 16, 2025 Last Week of School

We made it to the Last Week of School!

What an incredible year it’s been at KMS—full of excitement, growth, and school spirit! From the very first day to this final week, our students and staff have built a vibrant, supportive community we’re proud to celebrate.

We proudly welcomed a new class of 6th and 7th graders and several new teachers, all bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to our halls. In October, we wore pink every Wednesday for Breast Cancer Awareness, showing unity and compassion in action. New clubs like Builder’s Club, Mural Club and Writing Club joined beloved favorites such as the ESSC Ski Club and Mountain Biking Club, giving students even more ways to connect and thrive.

Our Fall, Winter, and Spring sports teams gave it their all this year, while Band and Chorus grew in both talent and numbers. We made lasting memories at Camp Cody, came together for Spirit Weeks, and explored new ideas during events like the Science Fair, Career Day, and WMTW's Weather at Your School. A standout moment was the electrifying performance by Recycled Percussion, whose message of Chaos and Kindness truly resonated.

This year’s field trips added even more adventure and fun—from cheering at a Maine Mariners hockey game to enjoying the sunshine at Sea Dogs baseball game. Students also braved winter conditions on a trip up the Cog Railway to the top of Mt. Washington, and our 8th graders capped off their time at KMS with a final, joy-filled trip to Storyland.

As we look ahead to summer, we want to thank our incredible students and families. Your support, spirit, and partnership made this year unforgettable. Enjoy a well-earned break—and here’s to the bright days ahead! Be sure to check out this Video of our year in review!

Kick Off Your Summer with Soccer Fun!

MWV Soccer’s Elite UK Summer Camp will be held July 7th-11th on the soccer fields of Kennett Middle School, Conway, NH. Our core belief is that soccer is FUN, so Elite UK Soccer Camp is built to combine the love of the game with the technical development that all players need to take their game to the next level. The camp is open to youth players from all towns, ages U5-U17, and is led by Winston Haughton, a standout Youth Soccer Player with English Premier team Aston Villa and a semi-professional player in England. Field Trips This Week

We’re excited to announce two fantastic field trips happening this week for our middle school students!

🚂 6th Grade Adventure – Monday, June 2
Our 6th graders will be heading to the Mt. Washington Cog Railway for an unforgettable ride up the tallest peak in the Northeast! This historic railway offers stunning views and a unique learning experience about New Hampshire’s geography and history.

Students should arrive at school by 7:15-7:20.  They will be departing KMS at 7:25.  Late students will not be attending the trip. Students will return to KMS for regular dismissal time.  Students should bring sturdy, closed-toed shoes, long pants, a base layer, a warm mid-layer, waterproof outer layer/shell, warm hat, pair of glove, a backpack to put all of your belongings in, a hearty lunch (packed at home unless pre-ordered at school) and water bottle and snacks.

8th Grade Fun Day – Thursday, June 5
Our 8th graders will be enjoying a day at the ballpark as they head to a Portland Sea Dogs Baseball Game! It’s a great way to celebrate the end of the year with classmates, enjoy America’s pastime, and make lasting memories.

Students should arrive at school at the regular time (7:35).  They will load the bus at 8:30. Students will return to KMS between 3:30-4:00.  A specific return time will be communicated that day via school messenger based on when the buses leave Portland to come back to KMS. Students can bring in an empty water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, and spending money if they would like something in addition to the lunch that is provided.  Backpacks are not allowed in the stadium.  Students who have inhalers should bring them and keep them with them.
